Jacking Up The Stern & Playing with Big Blocks
We were able to find 2 used timbers an 8ft 6x6 and an 8ft 6x10 at The Rebuilding Center for only $31!!!! The 4x3 oak blocks for the blocki ng stacks came from a family members firewood pile.
The idea was to jack the stern off the trailer and support it well on the big beam using tapered shims to fit the hull shape. Then move forward and jack the boat up on her keel and pull the trailer forward a bit, lower the boat back onto the trailer, reposition the jack(jacks) and repeat

Getting Ready To Remove The Trailer
It will be so much easier to work on Redwing off the trailer, her whole bottom will be easily accessible, plus I can work on the trailer should I become bored with wood working.
Once again Nick was lead on this project. He has vastly more experience than I moving large, heavy and unwieldy objects. Oh yeah......and we got to play with blocks........BIG BLOCKS together!
Super neighbors Mat & Nikki Pozos generously allowed me to use their driveway to access the EZ Bree Z Ship Yard. I backed the truck down and we hooked up to the trailer with chain and a beautiful 3 ton "come along" borrowed from friend Pat.
